The Bajo Tigre rendezvous is an imaginary baile in a small jungle village above the Pacuare River. Heavy monsoon rain and flooding provide the background for this short journey through romance and power struggle. The armadillo and boa constrictor compete for territory as the river competes with the band. Jenny and Mao tiptoe around the bodega with butterflies in their tense hearts.
lyrics
Armadillo, running for its life
boa constrictor, protecting the night
old caballero, waning moonlight
waiting on Jenny, to come through the night
Bajo Tigre rendezvous, down at the, Bajo Tigre rendezvous
The road from the highway is filled with city girls
in their shoes and dresses, flowers and curls
come to dance the Marange, and light up the floor
waiting on Jenny, to come through the door
CH:
The river competes with the band
the valley's been flooding and stripped all the land
and the road to Santa Rosa is out
and the rain on the water makes the loudest sound
Bajo Tigre rendezvous, down at the, Bajo Tigre rendezvous
Won't you dance with me Jenny, I know you're around
loosen my strings girl, my mind's tightly wound
all the neighbors and family, are all in the crowd
dance with me Jenny I know you're around
The sunbirds escape from the trees
fly past the dancers and the saxophone keys
and the lonely girls wait in their seats
for someone to hold them and make them complete
Bajo Tigre rendezvous, down at the, Bajo Tigre rendezvous
